2012 Winter Workout/Tryouts Six Consecutive Saturdays beginning January 7th., 2012
New York Nine is proud to bring back our acclaimed winter workout / tryout for the 2012 season. . Registration is limited, and will be filled on a first come, first served basis. The Winter Workout/Tryout is designed to both improve the individual player’s skills, and prepare them for their upcoming Spring season. Our instructors have all participated and/or coached at the highest levels of baseball, and will pass their knowledge on to our enthusiastic and talented student-athletes.
This year's clinic will be offered at spacious Queens College, which provides two full hitting tunnels, ample space for defensive work and conditioning, multiple offensive stations, and for pitchers - indoor work and long toss. Speed improvement guru Ed Lovelace will be featured this year as well. We will focus on all aspects of the game – offensive skills, defensive skills, conditioning and flexibility, mental aspects and approaches as well as a separate pitching component. We will also offer nutritional information, off-season conditioning tips, and suggestions on how to successfully deal with the collegiate recruiting process. All potential New York Nine members will have the opportunity to showcase their desire to play the game at the highest level, and their overall work ethic. This ensures a fair and objective “try out”. The workout/tryout is available to all student athletes ages 10 and up who are interested in training with or for New York Nine.
You do not have to be a member of the New York Nine, nor want a tryout to participate. All you have to be looking to do is improve your individual skills.
