Preserving our Country's Future through Baseball


The NEW YORK NINE is a 501c3 non-profit charitable organization that provides opportunities for student-athletes from a wide range of socioeconomic backgrounds. Sponsor donations are essential to the organization, because they enable all student-athletes the same opportunities to enrich their athletic, academic and social experiences.

The Philosophy of the Nine Our goal as an organization is to maximize our athletes' exposure to the highest levels of the collegiate coaching and national scouting communities, while offering sound programs that develop mental and physical strength. With a serious commitment to the principles of education, The New York Nine firmly stands behind the word "student" in the term "student-athlete". The organization provides the necessary tools to our student-athletes including tutoring, assistance in the collegiate selection process, and post graduation career placement. Incorporated as Team NY Baseball, LTD, the New York Nine instills morals and values through the belief that "professional level attitudes produce professional level people".

Our Track Record Speaks For Itself The combined lifetime experience of our "front office" has successfully placed student athletes in various in colleges and universities across the country at an outstanding 95% success rate. Along with this, over 100 players have signed professional contracts.

Academic Advisory Committee By offering mentors who have experienced success as educators, corporate executives, small business owners, professional baseball scouts, and nationally recognized coaches, student-athletes are surrounded by positive people who know what it takes to reach the next level. Our academic advisory committee makes sure that every student-athlete sets personal educational goals which can be reached. Tools and tutors are provided to all student-athletes who put forth the desire to improve their quality of life through education AND athletics, not just athletics. The combined prior history of our front office personnel has aided in obtaining almost one thousand collegiate scholarships and dozens of professional baseball contracts.

Community Activities The New York Nine prides itself on supporting the community: * We offer Free after school baseball clinics to inner city elementary schools and local little league programs. * We run clothing and food drives during the winter holiday season * The services of the New York Nine are ALWAYS available to its players * Besides providing a competitive 50 game summer schedule, the program offers a winter conditioning program, a fall showcase schedule, and access to gym facilities throughout the year * The program also provides contacts to local businesses for job opportunities for those in need.

Outright Gifts
When you make an outright gift to Team New York Baseball, your contribution can be put to work immediately — either providing funding for current programs or creating a reliable source of future income by expanding the organization’s endowment. An outright gift may be composed of almost any asset of value:

Cash gifts — the simplest and easiest gifts you can make — can be made through credit/debit card transactions, outright cash, or personal checks, cashier’s checks, or money orders made payable to the Team New York Baseball, LTD.

Gifts of appreciated securities, stocks, and bonds also provide considerable tax advantages when transferred to NY9  before they are sold. If you have held your securities for more than one year, you may find that your gift will provide a twofold tax benefit, creating an income-tax deduction as well as helping avoid the capital-gains tax that would have been due on their sale.
You also may make a gift of mutual funds, non-marketable stock, or closely held stock.

Gifts of real estate — including personal residences, second homes, income property, and vacant land — offer a wide variety of tax and other benefits. Whereas most people give their entire interest away, it is also possible to give only a portion of the property (an undivided percentage interest) while retaining the rest for other purposes.

Gifts of personal property — including rare books, works of art, valuable collectibles, and tangible items of demonstrable value — in some cases may enable you to make a significant gift to support Team New York Baseball with outstanding tax benefits to you.

Matching-Gift Programs An easy way to double or even triple your donation to NY9 is to find out if your company has a matching-gift program. Such programs typically match all or a percentage of employee contributions to charitable organizations, making the employer a partner in employees’ personal philanthropy. Simply obtain a matching-gift form from your employer’s personnel office, fill it out, and provide it to NY9 with your contribution.

Gift Pledges
NY9 welcomes your gift through a pledge — a formal statement of intention to make a gift to the organization. With a pledge, you may complete your gift by making regular payments over time, allowing you to give more generously than you originally may have considered. What is more, each payment on your pledge is eligible for an income-tax charitable deduction.
