Scout Team finishes 2nd at NABF North Atlantic Regional
For the first time in the organization's history, the Scout team will not be representing the North Atlantic region of the NABF at the World Series in Jackson, Mississippi. After going undefeated without a bye in the qualifying round, the Scout team got pushed to a seventh game. After a day's rain delay, the Long Island Sound at full strength were able to defeated a depleated Scout squad who had players leave for summer school and committments to the Empire State Games. The Nine Scout team finished the season at 35-13, but fell short of their World Series goals.
Scout Team claims second straight Battle at the Border Crown
The New York Nine Scout team claimed its second Battle at the Border Title in Port Chester this past weekend, defeating a very game Futures squad in the suprising semi-final game, on the way to defeating New Rochelle in the finals. New Rochelle upset the Showcase squad in the semis, and the vision of a scout vs. showcase final was taken away. Gabby Molina was named the tournament MVP.
Scout Team fall just short at Perfect Game Northeast BCS
 New York Nine scout team capped an amazing first tournament for the 2008 summer season by finishing second in the 32 team Perfect Game Northeast BCS at Baseball Heaven. After scoring 24 times and only allowing five runs in pool play, the scout team defeated the no.4 seed Syracuse Sports Zone Chiefs by a score of 7-2 and then upset the number 1 seed Connecticut Bombers 13-4 before bowing out to deserving champion Team Connecticut in the finals, their third game of the day.
George and Rodriguez Sign
Carlos George and Jean Carlos Rodriguez signed with the Milwaukee Brewers and Philadelphia Phillies respectively this week. The New York Nine is proud of these two student athletes, and wishes them well at the professional level
6/14 Mamaroneck wins New York State Championship
Another NYNine  coach Mike Chiapparelli and Mamaroneck Tigers win the  New York State Championship Saturday, June 14th.  Sean Hagan (Scout Team} was the winning pitcher (complete game) in the Semi Final early on Saturday. In the Championship game key hits by Gabe Klein (Showcase Team), and Sam Gruppo (Futures Team) helped lift the Tigers to a 6-0 win.  Congratulations to Chiappy, the entire Tiger Team and special “hats off” to our other New York Nine Players: Matt McGovern, Dean Chiapperelli, Michael Rosenfeld. 6/06 George Washington wins PSAL City Championship
Congratulations to our very own coach Steve Mandl and the George Washington Trojans on winning the PSAL New York City Championship at Shea Stadium on Friday, June 6th.  Starting pitcher Francisco Rosado (Showcase team) went into the 9th allowing no runs on two hits while fanning eight.  He was relieved by Xyruse Martinez who gained the win with 5 K's in 3 innings pitched. Scout team players, and pro draftees Jean Carlos Rodriguez and Fernando Frias lead the attack with 3 hits apiece. Congrats to our other New York Nine Players Mike Antonio, Juan Castillo, John Estrella, Viosergy Rosa and Jose Tavaras.
06/06/08 Three Current Nine Players taken in MLB Draft
The New York Nine are thrilled to announce that three current members of the organization were taken in the 2008 Major League Baseball First Year Player Draft. Catcher Jean Carlos Rodriguez went to the Philadelphia Phillies in the 10th Round, Shortstop Carlos George went to the Milwaukee Brewers in the 46th Round, and outfielder Fernando Frias went to the Washington Nationals in the 50th Round. 02/07/08 FOUR NY NINE MEMBERS SELECTED 2008 BASEBALL AMERICA PRE SEASON ALL-AMERICANS
 First Team
Fernando Frias, Outfield - George Washington HS '08. Been lauded by some as the potential next coming of Manny Ramirez, with better outfield prowess.  Fearsome hitter with plus plus power, currently holds NY Nine season record with 11 home runs including 430 foot shot at 2007 World Series. Named NABF 1st Team all-tournament at World Series in 2007. High 80's arm from OF.
Jean Carlos Rodriguez, Catcher - George Washington HS '08. Selected to 2007 Area Code Games where he hit the longest home run at the event, displaying power to all fields. Also selected to East Coast Pro Showcase 2007. Has posted sub 1.8 POP time. Quiet receiver with solid hands, great blocker. Intelligent game caller. Batted .436 during the summer (2007). Has been with the Nine Scout team since 2006, as a rare sophomore team member. Currently generating very high level of pro interest for June 2008 draft.
 Second Team
 Carlos George, Infield - James Monroe Campus HS '08. Slick fielding middle infielder with plus hands and plus arm. Natural athlete with fluid motion and feel for position. 6'2" Slender frame with growth potential. Sub 6.65 60 runner with long natural strides. Projects.
Sean Hagan - Left Handed Pitcher / 1st Baseman. - Mamaroneck HS '09, Athletically built 6'5 LHP/1B on solid frame with growth potential. FB sits 86-88 with life, solid CB and CH. Easy loose arm from high 3/4 slot and downhill plane on all pitches. Very Projectable. Multiple sport star, all state hockey player as well.
